BOMBERS SMASH ROYALS

Wednesday 21st July 2010

By Matthew Jones

Bullcreek Leeming have geared up for a big two weeks of football, defeating Kenwick by 87-points last Saturday at Beasley Park.

Joel Robinson added another 5 goals to his season tally, whilst Chris Boyes made up for his only scoreless round of the season last week booting 4 goals.

The Reserves made it 15 in a row, defeating the Royals by 100-points, however the colts for the second week in row went down by 5-points.

Travelling to Millington Reserve, the F Grade put up a terrific performance against the undefeated Scarborough side, to only be defeated by 14-points.

BOMBERS WIN BY A NOSE

Monday 12th July 2010

By Matthew Jones

Bullcreek Leeming continue to be the only team to have beaten Wanneroo this season, by getting over the Roo's by 1-point at the Wanneroo Showgrounds on Saturday.

The Bombers, forced to play with 17 players for the end of the 3rd quarter and the start of the final due to a red card send off, rallied together to play some great team football and take the game by the smallest of margins.

Joel Robinson returned to his Full Forward position after having last week off, and was dominant kicking 7 goals in the DVG Mountway Melville Best Player performance.

Earlier in the day, the Colts were defeated by 5-points, whilst the Reserves did enough to continue their undefeated season, defeating Wanneroo by 18-points.

The F Grade suffered their 3rd straight loss, being defeated by Rossmoyne by 21-points. Their task this week does not get any easier, when the travel to Millington Reserve to take on the undefeated Scarborough.

The biggest cheer of the weekend was saved for the 100 Club on Sunday, not for the eventual winner in Alex Roberts, but for the win of League Coach Shane Thompson's horse Em Gee Brown at Kalgoorlie, of which the majority of the club had put on a bet. The winning margin was similar to that of the League - a nose!

SHOW TIME

Friday 9th July 2010

By Matthew Jones

Bullcreek Leeming travel to the Wanneroo Showgrounds on Saturday for a Top of the Table clash with Wanneroo.

Being the only team to have beaten Wanneroo this season, the Bombers will be looking to repeat the dose on Saturday and hold onto the 2nd spot on the ladder which they obtained last week.

Whilst Bullcreek Leeming will be without the services of State Under 23's Representative Fraser MacDougall, the side has been bolstered with the return of Adam Tissott, Joel Olsen, Corbin Nesa, and Joel Robinson.

FOSTER'S DOZEN

Sunday 4th July

By Matthew Jones

Young Bomber Josh Foster is making a mid season charge at the Leading Goalkicker Award, kicking 12 goals in the Colts 159-point thrashing of Cockburn Lakes yesterday.

The Colts had to re-work their game plan before the start of play, with Cockburn Lakes only able to field 14 players, and the Bombers having to have the same amount of players on the ground under the WAAFL by laws.

The boys started great, booting 6 goals to 1 in the opening quarter. Adding another 9 unanswered goals in the 2nd quarter, the Bombers took a commanding 87-point lead into half time.

After a comparatively quieter third quarter where the Bombers only added 3 goals, they dominated the final quarter, booting 9 goals and keeping the Warriors scoreless, to run out convincing 159 point winners.

The Reserves continued their undefeated season, defeating Cockburn Lakes by 43-points.

The League move into 2nd position on the C Grade Ladder, with a convincing 50-point victory of the Warriors. Fraser MacDougall starred for the Bombers, taking out the DVG Mountway Melville Best Player Award, whilst Colin Fuller kicked 4 goals.

This now sets up a top of the table clash next week, when the Bombers travel to the Showgrounds to take on Wanneroo.

Over at Thornlie Oval, the F Grade suffered it's second loss in a row, narrowing losing by 5 points.

FORCED CHANGES

Thursday 1st July 2010

By Matthew Jones

League Coach Shane Thompson has been forced to make a number of changes to his side this week, due to the unavailability of some players, and injuries to others.

8 different players will line up for the League this week, with a major blow being the injury to Brad Holt. Holt may be missing for up to 3 weeks, with both a hand and a knee injury. However, it has been offset by the return of League Captain Gareth Ambridge for the clash on Saturday against Cockburn Lakes.

The Club is hoping for a big crowd down to Beasley Park on Saturday, and is calling on all Past Players to come down and watch the clash with Cockburn Lakes. The Bombers and Warriors had many a clash in the 80's and 90's, and this week's game is sure to be another great game.
