THE GRAND FINAL

Friday 3rd September 2010

By Matthew Jones

Bullcreek Leeming have made two changes each to it's League and Reserves sides that will line up in the C Grade Grand Finals this Saturday.

Into the League side comes Mark Gannaway and Kane Hulme, who were both late withdrawals in the 2nd Semi Final. Nathan Munsie returns to the Reserves, whilst Corbin Nesa has not been able to recover from injury, declaring himself unfit.

Joining Munsie in the Reserves is Josh Lamont, who has had plenty of League experience this year after starting in the colts.

For the supporter's, the day starts at 9.00am for the traditional Champagne Breakfast. Cost is just $25.00, which also includes the bus to and from Eftel Oval.

TROOPING WITH THE F GRADE

Thursday 26th August 2010

By Matthew Jones

The Bullcreek Leeming F Grade should have a great crowd cheering them on this week, with a Supporter's Bus being arranged for the day.

The bus will depart the club at 12.00pm, and travel via the Corfield Tavern, before getting to Gosnells Oval for the 2.55pm bouncedown. The bus will return to the club after the game.

Four changes have been made to last week's side, with Ford, Parise, Hamilton and Tang replacing Ovens, Sullivan, Lucy and Oliphant.

BOMBERS INTO GRAND FINAL

Tuesday 24th August 2010

By Matthew Jones

Bullcreek Leeming have secured two Grand Final appearances, with wins to it's League and Reserves sides in their 2nd Semi Finals on Saturday.

The League were simply devastating, setting up the win with an 13 goal to 2 first half. Robbie Lester Smith booted 5 goals for the Bombers, whilst Thomas Liew and Fraser MacDougall were dominant through the midfield. Late changes saw Colin Fuller and Nathan Munsie come into the side for the injured Mark Gannaway and Kane Hulme.

The Reserves had their toughest encounter of the season, against a fully focused Wanbro side. After controlling the 1st quarter, the Bombers let the Swans back into the game in the 2nd and 3rd quarters, before being able to pull away in the final term to win by 20-points.

Heartbreak was experience for the colts, who lost their 1st Semi Final by 2-points. After being outplayed in the 1st half, Bullcreek Leeming restricted Thornlie to just 2-points for the 2nd half, however this was enough for Thornlie to hold onto the game. Josh Lamont returned from League duties to be best on ground.

The F Grade came from behind after a slow start, to win their 1st Semi Final by 25-points. This win sets up a massive Preliminary Final against club rivals Fremantle CBC, which should see a mountain of support cheering on the boys with the League & Reserves having a week off.

BOMBERS HIT THE ROAD

Wednesday 18th August 2010

By Matthew Jones

The Bullcreek Leeming Amateur Football Club hits the road this Saturday, with the club playing at three different venues across its four teams in Week 2 of WAAFL Finals action.

The League, coming off a 68-point win over Kingsway last week, head up to the Wanneroo Showgrounds to take on the minor premiers Wanneroo in the C Grade Gold 2nd Semi Final at 2.30pm. With a grand final berth up for grabs, it is sure to be one of the games of the season. The Bombers have not lost to Wanneroo this season, and will be looking to continue that trend on Saturday.

The Reserves will be looking to continue their unbeaten run in 2010, and also will be looking to head straight into the Grand Final when they take on Warnbro at Kingsway Reserve at 12.35pm. Whilst the Bombers have recorded a 24-point and 36-point win over Warnbro in the home & away season, the Swans will no doubt be boosted by the availability of their qualified League players. The Warnbro league side was eliminated from the finals race by Thornlie last week, meaning Warnbro have a squad of 40 qualified players to choose from in their Reserves, 24 of which have had League experience. Coach Dale Sutherland in also blessed with a huge squad to choose from, with in excess of 33 players to fit into his side of 22.

Also playing at Kingsway Reserve is the Colts, in their do-or die 1st Semi Final against Thornlie at 10.45am. The Baby Bombers have not lost to Thornlie this season, after a 7-point win in Round 16 and a draw in Round 7. The Colts played with great spirit and determination last week, and although they still have a few players under injury clouds, will be looking to continue on to the Preliminary Final next week.

The F Grade are also in a must win 1st Semi Final, and take on Rossmoyne at Shelley Reserve at 12.35pm. The ledger is one all during the home and away season, however the boys will be certainly out to avenge their Round 14 defeat of 21-points. With all four sides playing finals football this weekend, it is sure to be the strongest F Grade side of the season that will take on the Rhino's.

It promises to be a great day of football for the club, so get down and support the boys at training on Thursday night and as many of the games that you can get to on Saturday.

Also, please remember get down to the club Thursday night for the AGM. 8.00pm. The club is open for all members to attend.

CREEK CRUSH KINGSWAY

Monday 16th August 2010

By Matthew Jones

Bullcreek Leeming have sent a strong message to it's rivals in the 2010 Finals Series, inflicting a 68-point defeat upon Kingsway on Saturday.

After a relatively close first quarter, the Bombers controlled the game for the following three quarters, kicking 5 goals in each of those, whilst restricting Kingsway to only 5 more for the match. Chris Boyes was brilliant for the 'creek, kicking 7 goals in the Best on Ground performance.

The Colts and F Grade kept their finals campaigns alive, both winning the respective Elimination Finals. The F Grade set up their win with an 8 goal to 2 first half, whilst an undermanned colts side played with plenty of spirit and passion to come from a goal down at half time to win by 4-points.

FOUR IN FOR THE CREEK

Friday 13th August 2010

By Matthew Jones

Bullcreek Leeming have made 4 changes to its League side, which will take on Kingsway in the Qualifying Final this Saturday at Beasley Park.

Coach Shane Thompson has included Mark Gannaway, Scott Riley and Dylan Murtha who have all overcome injury, whilst Steven Spencer returns after being unavailable for last week’s game against Ocean Ridge.

The Colts have been able to add 6 names to it’s side in the rematch against Ocean Ridge, however Brayden Kennedy has not been able to recover in time from a groin injury and will miss his first game of the year.

With the Reserves having the first week of finals off, the F Grade have been boosted by the inclusion of Colby Lewis, Chris Huxtable, Reece Putland and Peter Hamilton, who all played Reserves last week. Glen Parise and Andrew Bousfield have also been included which will add some strength to the side.

By Matthew Jones

Bullcreek Leeming are finals bound, with all four sides taking part in the 2010 Finals Series.

The Colts and League will play at Beasley Park, with the Colts playing at the later start time of 12.35pm, a perfect curtain raiser to the League game at 2.30pm.

The F Grade will travel down to Morris Buzacott Reserve to take on Thornlie, also at the starting time of 12.35pm. This promises to set up a huge home crowd  to cheer on the League in their match against Kingsway.

Coach Shane Thompson will has plenty of options in his selections, with Scott Riley, Steve Spencer and Mark Gannaway no doubt looking to impress and push for inclusion into the side, after missing last weeks game.

BOMBERS CEMENT DOUBLE CHANCE

Thursday 5th August 2010

By Matthew Jones

Bullcreek Leeming have secured second spot, and therefore a double chance in the 2010 finals series, after defeating Kingsway by 21-points at Beasley Park on Saturday.

In fact, the Bombers are still with a chance of finishing on top of the C Grade Gold ladder, should they win this week against Ocean Ridge, and Thornlie defeating the current ladder leaders in Wanneroo.

The Bombers have been boosted with the return of Scott Jansen, but have lost the services of Steve Spencer and Scott Riley for this weeks clash.
